Default extending leads on Evolution pickup

Hi all Im just finshed making compartment for my electronic ignition for a Evolution 35 and the lead is too short for the pickup by about 3 or 4 inches. It looks to me that I could just cut and splice in a piece to extend them. Any comments?

Rob,
If it is possable to relocate your EI module closer,so that the stock setup will work, do it. You bought a fully tested engine and system. I don't think that it would be good to make mods that could invalidate all of that testing by the manufacture. If you lenghen them, make sure that you throughly test the system before flight. Just my opunion.

Dave
