Us 41
Hello all,
I have two of the US Engines 41's and I'm having some trouble with one of them. The engine is new and was mounted in one of the new GP 1/3 Scale Pitts for about 4 flights, but due to problems the engine was swapped with another one I own. The problem I'm having is that on level fight the engine runs perfectly but once pulled to vertical it will bog out and if held for more than a couple if seconds it will die. (Definitely not something you want on a hot bipe like a Pitts) We thought that it may have gotten something in the carb that was blocking the pump from working. We pulled the carb and was checking it out when I noticed that the cylinder does not have a hole bored through it to the inside of the crankcase. The grove is cut, but there is not hole bored through it. I am not an engine specialist but I have worked on many of them. This is the first one I have seen without the hole in it. From what I understand the pressure through this hole is what works the pump. Can anyone help me in this matter?
Thanks
Mark W Ramsey
