The static port is attached to a square plate on the carb. Can that plate/port be pointed any way that I want as long as the tube coming off of it is inside the fuselage?

Another 36GT powered aircraft to add to the list. This is a KMP September Fury that I've been working on for over a year. It doesn't take that long, I just took a long break to try and find a stiffer elevator pushrod setup.

RE: Brillelli 36cc
I've heard it flies good. This one hasn't had its maiden yet.
Millington huh? I lived there for a while or was stationed there for a while I should say. I bet it's a great place to fly.

RE: Brillelli 36cc
All, its been a while since I made a post mostly because I have had nothing to report. Jim - glad to see you are still tinkering around with these Brillelli's like I am and still having a good time.
I have the 36 in a prototype plane I built for Ohio Model Plans. I added the ES-Composite pipe and a header built by Karl Mueller. The prop is a Mejzlik 18x6 and at this point, with three flights in the plane, I don't think it is the right choice. I am turning well over 9000 rpm so I think I will either increase the pitch, diameter, or both. I might try a 18x10 or a 19x6. Anyone test these with a pipe yet?
David

Mark,
Will do. I am going to borrow an 18x10 and will probably buy a XOAR or NX 19x6. Depending on which one is more to my liking I will replace it with a Mej. Don't want to experiment with the cost of those. I let you know the results....albeit next week at the earliest. Weather here is showing rain for the next 3 to 4 days straight.

David,
Glad to see you are back and still working with the Brillelli line on engines. I have 36GT on a UltraRC Giles-202. The total weight only comes out to 11.5 lbs and this engine has all the power one needs for this plane. I only have the stock muffler and I am using a Bambula 18x10 on it. It has been a while since I took any RPM reading, but I know I am getting well over 7500RPM with it and it pull and hovers the Giles with ease.

RE: Brillelli 36cc
David, I thought you had the 26 on a pipe? If it is the 26 you have there is no sense in going to a larger prop or pitch, maybe an 18x8 but 8500+ is it's powerband and where it likes to be.. it will happily run 9500 all day long. You will find going to a larger prop will drop rpms fast... below 8500 it doesnt perform half as well.

Jake, your right! Man do I feel like a bonehead. I'd like to say that it was a "senior" moment but I am not that old....yet. Okay, so I have the 26cc (SSR) and the 18x6 is just not enough. You think 18x8 or 18x10 is a better choice? I fly 90% of the time 3D/Freestyle and little to no IMAC. Besides, this is a prototype, fun-fly plane that excels at 3D.
Better answer this quick before I forget how to use the web.

I really havent seen one on a pipe.. I am waiting for a certain EF Extra to be in my hands before I will see it on a pipe in person.
I would try an 18x8 myself... you dont want too much or you get out of the power band too quick.

RE: Brillelli 36cc
David,
I have the 26ssr in a 72" Yak that comes in at a porky 11.5 lbs. I tried it with a 18x8 MA (I know this prop sucks), and the performance was crap. I switched to an APC 17x8 and the difference was increadible, almost a 2000 rpm increase in the top end and the low end rpm smothed out considerably. It can pull out of a hover pretty well, maybe a little less than a full 3D machine, but not bad.
but I am not running on a pipe, just the stock exhaust.
I have an Xoar 18x6 on order and will give a report when I test fly.
The yak is soon to be replaced with a wild hare baby edge that should come out to about 10 lb. I think that would be the perfect weight for this engine.

RE: Brillelli 36cc
Thanks for the info. Since I don't want to hijack this thread I'll do some testing myself and post in the right forum. I am going to try an 18x8 and see if there is any difference.
