Default Poulan Conversion 42CC or 46CC?

I am looking at converting a Poulan.
I have searched, and I can not find an answer to the following question:

Poulan makes a:

POULAN PRO 260-18 Gas Chain Saw with a
42cc / 2.6 c.i. engine with a "DuraChrome™ Cylinder - For longer engine life"

and

A FarmHand 2750-20" Gas Chain Saw
46cc/2.8 c.i. engine

What is the difference between the two motors? (other than 4CC)

Does one have an advantage over another?

Are the conversion parts the same?

Do they use the same engine case?

Is one cheaper than the other to convert?

Default Poulan

The 46cc can be converted and ran with the stock magneto ign, the 42cc needs an after market electronic ign (The pickup coil is mounted on the case not the engine). Both are good running engines. Take a look at the 33cc and 45cc homelite chainsaws they are easy to convert both run on magneto and fair priced! The 33cc is $109.99 the 45cc is $179.99 at homedepot I have the 33cc it is spinning an 18-6 zinger at about 8300!!! Good luck!

Default Home lite 33cc

Power:
Can you please tell me the model number of that 33cc Homelite chainsaw. This sounds like it would make a great "next" project.
Thanks, Cvan

Default Homelite

The 33cc Homelite is called the bandit. I am not sure what the model number is, it has a 14 inch bar and is the smallest saw they make. They make a 16 inch saw with the same 33cc it's about $20.00 more. Go to the RS Engines website and look at them in the converted stage they have good info on these engines. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I will be keeping an Eye out for one of these to convert to R.C.
