I need help! I have a GP CAP232/ fuji43ei combo guided by a JRSPORT 6ch. After five flights the plane developed gliches when ground checked with the engine running. No gliches when the engine is off and the engine runs great form idle to full power-up. I have done the follwing things to try and fix the problem;
1) Changed out all servos, JRSPORT125MG to Hitec 5645, ST47 throttle and choke
2) Unplugged and/or by-passed all servos, switches flight and EI, extentions, y harness
3) Changed out transmitter and receiver
4) Changed spark plug
5) Replaced both flight and EI batteries
6) Shielded the sensor and spark plug cable
7) Moved the EI unit and separated the cables as much as possible
8) Moved the battery and receiver to behind the wing in the fuse
9) Moved the receiver antenna direction out the bottom from straight back to outboard of the elevator
Any recommendations? I did call the service dept and was told to shield the engine cables and move the receiver further back. I think I've done more then I should have for an engine/plane combo designed to work together. I also have a Fuji32b and GP Giant Stick combo that flys great.

Bax, Already done that! My plane looks like it's ready for the oven with all the shielding
......I also upgraded to a 6v flight pack battery. Still gliching!

Bax I have pulled all the radio gear from the plane and put it back one servo at a time...gliching with the first servo! BUT I THINK I SOLVED THE PROBLEM! I put the plane back together (CAP 232/Fuji43) I started the Fuji43 and let it idle then I turn off the reciever leaving the engine running on the CAP. I then put my GP Giant Stick next to the running engine and turned on the reciever(Giant Stick engine NOT running), I use the same transmitter for both airplanes and both planes have a JRSPORT reciever same channel, I switched the transmitter to fly/control the GP Giant Stick. The GP Giant Stick was gliching as soon as I turned on the reciever from as far as 52 inchs (four foot 4 inchs) from the still running Fuji43 on the CAP. I fly the GP Giant Stick with a Fuji32b and it flies great with no RF interfernce from the Fuji32B. The Fuji43EI is affecting a radio 52 inchs away, there is no way that the radio inside the Cap is NOT going to be affected. The Fuji43EI is running great! I think the problem is the EI or engine is putting out way too much RF..............

Bax: I should have added that the the engine only has five flights on it and I've only had it a few months, bought from Tower Hobbies in November 2006. How do we take care of this problem? Thanks, Henry

Hi Bax, I know it's only been a few days since I posted my findings. I'd like to know what you guys think and what I should do to get this fixed! Thanks, Henry

We really couldn't say what the difficulty may be. If you have too much interference from the ignition unit, then it needs to be sent to us for service. It may be the type of receiver that doesn't have enough noise rejection. Since we don't work with that type of receiver, we have no idea what its noise rejection may be. We'll be glad to look at the ignition unit, though.

Bax, the Radio is a JRSport with the standard reciever, worked with the Fji32b not the Fuji43EI. Can I sent just the ignition unit from the Sensor Pickup to the little black box or do I need to send the engine and EI? Thanks, Henry.

You may try isolating the EI unit. Wrapping it with foil can help. Interference is not the province of the airplane, but in the interaction of the radio and the engine's ignition system.

If you shield the spark plug lead and install a Bosch resistor cap on the Fuji ignition it usually will not have hot enough spark to run. In the cases where we have had the customer install the Bosch spark plug cap and the engine would still run ,it cured the RFI problem. When you add shielding and resistance the spark quality is weakened.
