Default G26 prop fun?

Sorry guys could not find my old post on my new G26. I just finished up my first Gal of fuel and had a lot of fun testing props today and had a question. First I have not tweaked the needles yet and the engine is running great. I am running 32:1 oil to gas...... the original prop was an MAS wood 16/8 wood 8300rpm no thrust data on that one.
Second prop was a 16/8 MAS "classic" 8700rpm at 13.3lbs thrust
Third was a 17/6 pro zinger wood 8900rpm at 14lbs thrust
Forth was a APC 16/8 at 8900 rpm at 14lbs thrust
Fifth was a APC 16/4W at 10,400rpm 14.3lbs thrust (not sure where I got this prop) she really winds out on this one ,sounds like to many rev's to me but what do I know....

I only purchased 2 props, the rest were given to me so, My question is what prop should I do next.....I have an 18/6 pro Zinger wood but I would have to get more ground clearance on the h9 Ultra Stick lite......maybe 4"foam tires or mod the landing gear....ect. Looks like a 17/4w would be great but can't find that size. So far the pro Zinger 17/6 and the 16/8 apc look good? Spool up on the APC is a little better but I can see the wood better.....dang APC are just invisible spinning razor blades.LOL

Thanks guys having fun with gas, and the plane is a blast to fly.

Mejz-18x6 approx. 9000rpm 17lbs static thrust, expensive but the best prop I have found for that engine.

I get 85-8600 on a APC 17X8. Works great on a Ultrastick Lite.

The mejzlik is a bit expensive for trials. Any wood 18x6 would rev up quickly and provide tons of thrust at rpm of 9000 and more

Problem is, not just 'any' wood will turn at 9000 like the Mez. I've been wanting to try the Xoar 17x7, might be a winner for all around flying.

No wood 18-6 turns like the Mej....The Xoar 18-6 turns less, might pull as hard, don't know, don't have one on a plane...

Running a Zinger 18x6 wood and only turn 7500 RPM back down to 7300.
Do not know how anyone is getting the high 8000 on 18". Running on a HAN9 Cub. Had to cur extra hole in front of cowling to get more aire directly over fins.

It's all in the design of the prop, some are much lighter, stiffer, and more efficient than others. The mezjlik 18x6 in this case , has proven itself

A muffler choice will also modify your results. a G26 will spin that Mezjlik 18x6 at 10000 with a macs tuned pipe no good for a cub at all...

What muffler are you people using to get that many RPM's (8900-9000)? Stock muffler gets 82-8400.

Dale Abell muffler 8800-9000
Slimline Pitts 8500
No muffler 9000
Mac's pipe, 10,000
I have been converting G26s for as many years as they have been available..ALL run at least 8800 unmuffled right out of the box...

It is the Abell muffler. I got a solid 600 rpm increase over the stock muffler it is a little loader but not to much. Abell told me that it will gain more rpm if you cut a little off the single stack. I just removed 1/2 inch so I'll report back what it does.

My field has no noise restriction but it could be if your does.

Thanks to all for helping me with the props and engine(it been fun)........Where do you guys buy Mejzlik props from?

I cut off 3/4 inch and got a solid 200rpm increase to 9100rpm on a 17/6 MAS wood, it was 8900 before the pipe cut. I think I'll stop now she has more than enough power for the 120 lite stick. This plane is just plain fun ....it will do any trick in the book and close to the ground to boot..........Powering out of trouble is noooo problem. Still have not touch the needles for power.

Just waiting on a 18/6 Mejzlik

Hi, all.
Got a Nosen Champ w/ a G-23......any guesses on prop? I gather 17/6 ish....anything more specific?

fix for invisible finger trimmer....is to paint stripes on the tips, just like the big ones.....white, red, yellow, black....just make it 'contrasty' with the prop, plane, etc....

thanx
