Is there any information on how to build a nitro engine dyno or has anyone built something similar for testing engine mods?
If anyone can help leave a post or E-mail me on [email protected]

I built one years ago. I used a pair of pillow blocks and a .625 shaft with a flat plate welded at one end. A one foot long arm clamped to the shaft connected to a spring scale measured torque. If I were to make one for larger engines I would use heavier materials and make the mounting plate very heavy to dampen power impulses. You will have to do some math to figure horsepower.

Also Land and Sea makes dynos but they are expensive.

soarrich,
Any pics of yours? I might be interested but I would like a look first. I searched for the manufacturer, but they don't seem to be on the web. PM me if you want to take this off-forum.
jet182, you need to be a bit more precise in what you are looking for. Just saying "dyno" is too wide open. How sophisticated do you want it and what are your expectations for it?

Don't get touchy. If you want Rich's dyno kit, it is all yours. I will not poach from someone asking first. If you don't want it, I am interested.
