Default Help with C&H ignition.

I just got my C.H ignition to day for my us 35.. I thought I orderd at syncro spark module with it but as I look at the invoice I gess I did not. O well.. The question I have is.. Have any one ran a C.H ignition with out the syncro spark? and is it needded? I know I will have to wach out for the kick back when I start it, but how will it run, and idel. I gess Im just trying to find out if I need to get the syncro spark module or not with this engine..

Thanks
Paul

Works well either way, just slap it a little harder to start it...

Gassers with fixed timing kick back...Small gassers don't kick back hard enough to need spark retard...35cc is a small gasser....The stock mag on a Q35 makes a good spark at low rpm...The ignition with syncro spark is retarded to about 4 BTDC when starting, reaches full advance at 4000...Electronic advance has good spark at 1 rpm, so you can start it with a relatively slow flip with your little finger...

I use the non Syncro ignition on all my conversions under 44cc. Works just fine and never had much of a bad kick back issue. I have had to use one as a test on a 50cc once that kicked a little more but I knew going in to be more careful.

I have a CH ignition w/o synchro spark on a 25cc Brillelli and it has never kicked and runs the same. I once put a synchro spark on this engine from another one I have to see if it would improve the idle characteristics and I could tell no difference whatsoever between syncro spark and non-SS.

By God you'd better! Otherwise you'll be answering a thousand post about missing Syncro Spark and why you don't list the ignition on your page
