All you "factory" needle setting fanatics need to go to the Walbro web site and read the tip of the month about needle settings....They now leave Walbro calibrated for the ORIGINAL equipmnent user (IE chainsaw or weedeater) set from 1/4 to 4 turns open..Anyone thinks that will work on a model airplane gasser lives in never never land..Check it out, maybe you just might learn something from the engineers who actually know [>:]

There's no such thing as "factory set needles" for our application. If you install a gasser, of any kind/brand, on an r/c airplane, you must adjust/set the needles, period......

Some people are just afraid.
I had a guy tell me that after paying $600 for a engine and muffler he expected it to be "RIGHT"
I told him it was right, for the guy who ran and tested it.
Unless you live in the same location and tested it in the same set up then you need to adjust the engine.
I also see people who want the very last RPM out of the engine.
I just tell them to adjust it until the engine two cycles at WOT then leave it.

You said it all in just one line. There is just a starting point on any and all engines. There is a rule of thumb to get the engine started, from then on, it is up to the individual. I run many engines before I ship them,and although theyallstart and run with factory settings, I have never had one run perfect out of the box.

Thanks to the EPA, I am now required to break off those little red caps that I am not supposed too.
They are now smarter than that now, the latest hedger trimer I bought did not even have needles. You otta see how rich that pig runs. Government agencies are so smart.
