Default prop balancing

How do you balanc a prop. I have a balancer and I put dope on the one end. I did it un till is was balanced.. but when it dryed it was light agian. That sucked.. What can I use do put on the prop to balanc it?

I do not like sanding the prop.. I prefer to add to it not take off.. but if I have to sand it I will..

Thanks

Use either more dop or clear paint. There's a very good video that covers prop balancing at down on the deck.com. It's much more informative than written descriptions.

I use Luster coat clear for the light tip. It does lose a little weight when it dries but just keep spraying it until it's perfect and dry. I also balance my hubs like the above mentioned Down on the Deck video does. You'd be surprised how bad some props can be. I always balance them. I think gassers vibrate enough as it is let alone add some prop imbalance.

Read all you want. Watching a prop being balanced the correct way is much more illustrative. Check the DOD video when you get the chance. Better to add weight and not sand material away. The shape of the prop on both sides is rather important.

Some of you folks already know this. New people might not. The Top Flight magnetic ballancer comes with a small metal rod to carry the load between the magnets. It will cary about 4 oz of weight or a 23x8 prop. If you make up a 1/4" slightly longer rod it will carry far more weight. 8 oz+ spinners and 30x10+ props.

Always; check the props ballance before re-drilling, measure that the hole is centered in the hub before drilling.
If you need to add paint to a tip, lightly sand where painting. Krylon makes a clear plastic compatible spray paint that dries in about 10 minutes and stops running in 5 minutes.

I got them. What I did is at a swop I got 3 new props in a box. there was a 3w zdz and a zinger. The zinger was right on. but the bad thing is it was a zinger lol the 3w was off by very little and the zdz was so bad that I was not sure if I was going to get it. I put dope on it un till it was balanced.. but it took allot of dope to do it.. I saw the video and was able to get the hub balanced with just ca.

Now I will see what prop will be the best.. I think the zinger will be the best for sturing paint lol

It can't be linked to here because it will get exed out. I just went there. Go to the left side of the home page where it says "videos". Scroll down three lines to "instructional" and click. It was the next to the last video window showing on the page that comes up. 25.2 megs worth.
