Default 3w-50i missing at high speed

I just installed a CH RCEXCell ignition on my 3w-50i, and ran it on the plane for the first time today. It seems to run fine, except I can heaer it missing at high rpm (about 6300). I put on a new plug, same thing. Does this mean the ignition is too far advanced or retarded?
Thanks
Sam

You may have a weak battery too. Call Ralph at RC Ignition and find out where the timing needs to be set for a 3W. It's not difficult to change if needed.

Yeah, all I need to do is loosen the clamp and rotate the sensor a bit this way or that. The battery pack is a new 4.8v 1500mah, just cycled and charged. I suppose I could try this by hit and miss, but my hands get tired undoing all those spinner, prop, and cowling bolts! Oh, well, better in the back yard that trying to fly at the field!

Thanks
Sam

I adjusted the timing and found that the engine would not start. Did the diagnostic and found the sensor was bad. CH will be sending me a replacement. I suspect that was the problem all along.
THanks
Sam
