Fitted with an Abell side dump muffler my G23 turns an APC 17x6 at 9200 rpm but switching to a Xoar 16x8 turning 8800 gave a much better flight performance.
The 17x6 gave very good verticals but take off speed was a bit slow, while the 16x8 traded off a bit of the vertical performance for an increase in speed.
The engine powers a Carl Goldberg Extra which weighs 10 lbs and has a very lively performance.
