Has anyone else checked out the 4 cycle from sthil ? It is a gas and oil mix so there is no oil problems to address. Its a 31 cc two ring piston and it sounds like a sato at a idle. The specs. say it will turn 10500 rpm Model no# fs110

Man this thing sounds great, a dealer in my area has one he's been playing with he says he is very impressed with the power of this engine so impressed he ripped one completely apart to have a look see!! The design is pretty much the same as shindawia's only more capacity. I want to play with one real bad but I can't justify $370.00 for the trimmer. Maybe he can sell me the powerhead cheaper we will see!!

I think this is the engine everyone has been waiting for in a 4 stroke gasser.

Sorry Doug. I meant from the literature on it, it sounded cool. Not literally, although a sound clip would be excellent. I think we'll have to wait for a conversion to hear it.

I got to squeeze the trigger on one today, it feels real snappy, great throttle response. I bet it would be even better without that ugly muffler! From what I can see this is an easy conversion with minimal machining, the engine looks and feels light. Here comes the problem I can't get myself to dump $370.00 on it even though I want to real bad!!! Hey how's this, someone else buy one tell me what you need machined, prop hub mount case reduction ect... and I will be happy to do it no charge, just the excitement!!!! Man this engine sounds real cool I would like to hear one on just a header.

I'm going to go to my local dealer and see about buying just an engine this weekend. Anyone else had any luck with their local dealer yet?

Default stihl 4 stroker

Hey, I chatted with the local dealer today we looked at the exploded views, I assumed the engine was a lot like the shindawia in design but they are quite different. The stihl does not appear to have a reed/flapper valve. The shindawia has two. the parts diagram shows a very small light crankcase, it has a small flywheel with fins on the front and back! The module even looks small. I believe you could face off both sides of the flywheel for more weight reduction. The back of the casting has tapped ears that could be used for a mount I could only see two on the picture but I believe there's three or four. As far as four strokes go, this engine will be light. Now we have to see if it will turn a prop! The dealer is going to see what he can do about getting me a power head.
