Hey bdtsr, did you get a chance to see what type of bearings are on the crank and con rod? From what I can see these engines look pretty easy to convert. Let us know when you get it running!!! Thanks.

Power,
The crank is supported by two ball bearings! One at each end. After cutting the back end of the crank off I will make a mounting plate that will mount right to the motor, should work ok. Just got my 49cc in today. Haven't unpacked it yet though. Waiting for the wife to go out!

Ok, one more question The carb on this engine from what I can see is not a walbro pumper style, is there a pulse hole in the insulator block? I can't tell from your pics. I was thinking, even if this thing is not a powerhouse it's still a bargain! Man $100.00 for a 100cc + engine JEEEEEEZ!!! compare that to a Q100. After you add up all the parts you have to wonder how the heck they can sell it for that price! I suppose it's like an overgrown ryobi. Mass quantities= low prices. Thanks again!

Well actually it's 138cc! There is a 98cc available. The carb WAS a float type, but a Walbro WB or WGA will fit. A pump tap will need to be added for the pump portion of the carb. Now for some more news, the 49cc Tecumseh weighed in at 6lbs even fully dressed. After take down to bare block less portion of crank to be removed and spark plug... now get this 3lbs on the nose!! Will it last in a plane? Who know, but for $35 shipped who cares!

Well to be honest, I haven't done much. Trying to get my boat back together. Blew one of the engines last fall then found the transom was rotted! I do have the prop hub done and the sensor mount figured out, just need time to get it together. When things settle down some, I'll finish it as I'd like to replace the Moki 2.10 on my Midwest Extra with it. The Moki is a real fuel hog and I really like flying the Extra.

Hey - how did you come out with this conversion?
I have a HSK600 from a snapper snow blower waiting conversion (98cc) wondering if it would be worth the effort of teardown, rebuild, etc.
Hows the vibration, power, prop size/rpm, etc?
