Hello everyone. I just recently purchased a used Hangar-9 Funtana 100 powered by a MVVS 26. The owner had it advertised as almost
new condition and having an Evolution 26. After questioning him why the color of the head was blue and not orange he stated he made a mistake in his add and the engine is actually a MVVS. I drove a pretty far distance and was anxious to get my first gasser(want experience to move up to a Wildhare Sukhoi 50) so I bought it anyway. Well there were some obvious problems after I got it home
batterys not wrapped in foam, fuel tank not insulated, two different length servo arms on ailerons, etc etc. Anyway I think I got everything staightened out by now my confidence in this clown is out the window. He insisted MVVS is the same as an Evo and the parts are interchangable. Is this true? If so I assume performance is the same? Also what size prop should I be using with this engine? I fly the plane slow and am getting decent at 3-D flight I also have a Funtana 100 with Satio 125. What is a good brand prop? I would like to use a wooden or APC until I get the plane in the air and setup some then I would like to go with a nice carbon fiber prop. Thank you in advance for the help.

The Evolution engine is a badged MVVS, Evo is a completly different make of engine manufactured in Italy I belive, the MVVS and Evolution are made in CZ, very good engines, have a look at the MVVS Support Thread on here RCU that is, also Pe Riever's web site on MVVS.nl he is the importer into Holland and has an English web site with all the information you could possibly need.

If you want to fly the engine 3D, take care of a good, and well guided cooling air flow. The 26cc engine has small cooling fins, so it is very important to keep the engine at a comfortable operating temperature. Do not take shortcuts here. The engine has a graphite coated piston, and will not show it's heat discomfort by sagging untill too late.
See http://www.prme.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37
Also it is very important to use the right oil. A fully synthetic two stroke racing oil is required in a 1:33 to 1:40 mix with premium gas of 91 pump (91 MON) octane or better. Lower octane values will cause detonation that wrecks the big end bearing.

Hello thanks for the answers. I worded my first post wrong the head is orange not blue and is a MVVS engine. I also race motorcycles
I think one of the last few holding out and riding a 250 2 stroke MX bike (LOL) I use Klotz Supertechniplate 2 cycle premix. Is this a good oil to use in this engine? It is a full synthetic with %20 castor added, I can also easily use R-50 Klotz which is a full synthetic but in my motorcycle applications I see less wear with the Techniplate, but I use my bikes for racing so they are ridden hard and all oil deposits are burnt clean. Also what is a good brand 18x6 prop?
