I have a BME 44 engine mounted inverted with a BME muffler on it. I had it checked today and found out it is emitting about 104 db's of noise. Does anybody know of a muffer that can get this engine down to the required 98 db . It is sort of disgusting to find out that the $50 I spent on the current muffler was all for not, since the plane is now illegal according the AMA and our club rules. I also just purchased the BME 50 and it came with the same muffler. Since I havent yet used this engine, I am going to send this muffler back, but I need to find a suitable replacement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Alan

Check this out! I just got one for my BME 50. The BME muffler is really just an exhaust diverter!
I haven't run it yet...but I've heard this muffler on a BME 44 and it was nice and quiet.
Good luck!
