Hi All,
So I want to get into bigger aircraft. I want to stick with glow engines vs using gas. I was comparing Moki/Mark 2.10 to some of the 45cc/50cc engines and the power/weight are similar such as the evolution and DA 50.
So the question is, can I use a moki 2.10 in any aircraft that is requiring a 50cc engine?
Thanks.

Depends on the plane and the type of flying you are going to do. It will have less power than a 50cc gas motor. I'll have to recheck my numbers, but I run Mejzlick 22x8 7200rpm or 23x8 6800 (appx.) on my 50cc motors. My Moki 2.1 turns a 21x8 mejzlik at about 7300. I'm going from memory so I could be off a bit. The Moki is very powerful, but not in the 50cc category, its more like a ZDZ 40.
That said, I'll give you some specifics on my Moki powered airplane. I fly a 80" Hangar 9 Cap that weighs in at 14.4lbs with the Moki. It is very good for IMAC and has more than adequate power for 3d. Most 50cc planes built today are likely going to come in quite a bit heavier than this H9 Cap, but if you have one that will be light then it will be entirely satisfactory. Also, if you are not doing hardcore 3d or advanced IMAC it will be fine.
So... If the plane is designed for gas 40cc - 50ccc and quite light and you aren't a big 3d person. Moki will be fine. I love mine, it's just not a 50cc.

""its more like a ZDZ 40""
I agree, my MVVS 35cc gasser will spin a 3W 20x8 at 7200 tuned for flight, and I bet the Moki weighs close to a pound less,
""Mejzlick 22x8 7200rpm or 23x8 6800 (appx.) on my 50cc motors""
as I remember my friends DA 50 turns a 23x8 at 6600,,
and I agree about the plane/motor combo, I have my MVVS in a 80" span ARF GeeBee Y, it doesn't pull like a 3D plane but it's top speed is pretty good, if I could loose about 1 pound of weight with the Moki and run more prop a 100 RPMs faster WOW,, but I want to burn gasoline (yes my MVVS is probably heavier than the ZDZ 40 but I wanted a front mounted carb), and I do remember my friend's Yak with the DA 50 weighs 16.2 pounds, only about a pound more than my GeeBee Y..

2 Gp Pitts 1/3 scales one with a Moki and one with a Zdz 50 the Zdz was the clear winner, shame I could never get it to start more than once per afternoon
