On 9/5/07, I shipped my BME 110 to BME Engines in Waco,Tx. My instrucions in the box were only to: " Please retrofit this engine with the 6 bolt hub, & call me for payment."
On 9/10/07, Keith Baker called to tell me my engine was ready, and that they did some other stuff also:
1. Took the head off, decarbonized it.
2. Replaced the head gaskets, & the sleeve gaskets.
3. Performed an upgrade on the carberator.
4. Replaced the reeds.
5. Fitted new 6 bolt hub to it.
Great service like this needs to be acknowledged, & lauded. Thanks, Keith. I received my engine back today.

Thanks, for the positive feedback. I just bought a BME 115 from Keith, have not had a chance to run it yet but its nice to read some positive remarks about them.

Tony, all my flying buds wanted me to pressure him for the quick serrvice, because we have a Big bird fly-in this weekend. I got the fantastic service without any pressure at all. And I'll be ready for the fly-in . Another thing, the reason I didn't ask him to do anything else to the engine is because it was running great before I sent it to him.

Torqmeister,
Isn't it a pleasure to deal with people who provide real good old service, and take pride in suporting their work/products and customers?
I've dealt with Scott at Brillelli for a couple of years for exactly this reason. Last week fancied playing with a Zenoah and spoke to Ralph cunningham. Again, a really nice person who is very proud of his work. Ordered a G26 from Ralph. What surprised me was the very competetive price compared with buying just a bog standard G26.
Modellers who start cquestioning whether BME, Taurus, Brillelli, RCIgnitions, Laser... engines are worth the money compared to the $250 dollar ones from box shifting distributors really don't know what they are missing!
The people who run these companies are never going to get rich on the back of building and selling engines but they do bring a lot of pleasure to those who appreciate quality and service.
Sorry for highjacking your thread but I admire the who run these companines and it's easy to get carried away when it comes to engines!
Maninder.

You said a mouthful, Maninder. I am a small business owner. Quality product & sales are very important, but quality service is what keeps the customers coming back, time after time. For example, look at the customer loyalty DA has developed over the years, a service record to be emulated.
There are a few high quality companies out there. We need to continue to support them with our loyalty & dollars.
