Hi all,
I'm considering the (Sig manufactured) "First Place Engine" (1.3) for a 120 size Four Star(or course also Sig made) kit that I just ordered for my winter build project. (also my first kit)
Has anyone had any experience w/ this engine (and / or brand)? It seems like the right fit for that model? ...yes ?
This would be my first gasoline engine rc, and my third plane. I've heard advantages/disadvantages for nitro and gas, but would appreciate any opinions/suggestions.
My concerns: overall maint. cost /start up equip ie. do I need a larger starter motor?/will it fit this aircraft? etc.
Any experiance you can share is much appreciated, Thanks ahead of time.

Nothing wrong with the First Place line of engines. In that size it won't compete with a 1.2 glow engine for power, but will be cheap to run and last forever. Easy to start by hand as well. It wil fly the Four Star just fine, but it won't be an "unlimited vertical" type of power.

I have two FPE engines, a 3.2 and a 4.2
Both of mine have been very good engines. The 3.2 is over two years old and it runs and runs without a hiccup. I have no experience with the smaller one.
