It's like sugar, great rush when you get it, but what a let down when you can't! I just can't wait to get cranking on my new Tecumseh 138! Or the 49! Got my Ryobi 4 stroke torn down, trying to decide on the ignition now.

I was until the war started, only reason I'm here now is cause there seems to be a pause in the news. Also my laptop died so I had to dust off the old mainframe and boot it up. Then it was neccessary to relog at all my regular websites.

For me, Darin has it right - the wealth of knowledge available here simply cannot be duplicated in a local environment.

It also gets the blood flowing again when things start to become "less stimulating". I know my enthusiasm was lagging just boring holes in the sky with my 40-60 size glow planes, then gas engines got my attention on here. Ah - Rebirth! Now enjoying flying several times a week again instead of just once.

And as part of the larger planes/gas engine interest, I became interested in doing engine conversions - just bought a metal lathe and mini mill, and am really looking forward to working on engine conversions.

That and I will intentionally log on here instead of turning on CNN, etc - don't want to get caught up in it. Been there, done that for a year when deployed over there for operations Desert Shield/Storm/Calm. I get my feed from the newspaper. I've lost a couple of flying buddies for our normal morning flying sessions because they are glued to the TV.

Hideho and good morning all,

This is how it starts...we covet what we see....
I don't have any big ole gassers...just a ST 2500 that came on my Big Ole Bingo...I got all my questions answered and terrific info too. Couple of hot tips...like Naptha (lighter fluid) to help start them in the cold.
I started reading this forum in February, about the 5th or so.
Now I'm here at least two times a day, in just this forum in addition to the others I moderate.

I may not own any gassers, but I'll tell you one thing...I can sure speak intelligently about them after reading this forum, day after day.
Where am I going with this?
Slowly I am gravitating toward the bigger stuff...acquiring bigger servos...Have two Saito 150's...the Big Ultra...H-9 Cap 73'...Bingo..
Next move will probably be gas....I have enough info to buy a gasser with complete confidence after hanging here for a couple of months....
So my dilemma is this....
Do I complain about it or should I be grateful.....I was fine until I started reading you guys everyday....yea, that's it ...it's all YOUR fault...that's what I'll tell her...

I am being dragged into the bigger stuff kicking and screaming....I'm just too cheap to fork over the big bucks...

For some of us "engine nuts" the rest of the plane is just a support system for the noise up front. This is the first place I stop when I start rooting around in RCU.
