Does anyone have any ideas about putting a gas engine in a TF P-40 Gold Edition? I am building one and were I live gasoline is 4.55 a gallon, and glow fuel haz mat shipped from Anchorage is about 150.00 for a four gallon case, soooo any suggestions on a gas engine would be greatly appreciated. What does anyone think about the Evolution 26GT2, to much engine?

LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS MOTOR AS FOUND BY A FELLOW FLYER.NOT POSITIVE BUT I BELIEVE IT A CONVERSION FROM GLOW. ITS VERY FICKEL TO ADJUST AND SEEMS TO NEED ADJUSTMENT OFTEN.THE POWER LEAVES SOMTHING TO BE DESIRED AND THE IGNITION WENT UP IN SMOKE ON ITS FIRST GALLON OF FUEL. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.YOU WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER WITH A ZENOAH G20EI. RESULTS MAY VARY,BUT THESE ARE MY EXPERIENCES.

A Zenoah G-26 EI or 3w-28 would be far better choices, though both would be heavier than a comparable glow engine. There's always trade offs in this size plane when thinking gas. Only you can decide if they are are worth it.
