This is my 1st really big gas engine, I had a fuji 50 but it was not electronic ign. Im guessing you turn the choke/ign on flip till it pops then choke off?
Any good info would be great.

that should do it. da also has a nickasil cylinder. it must be broken in with a petrolium oil ,never synthetic. lawnboy works good. if you want your new da to stay new. after breakin run belray h1r at 32:1 or 50 :1 it is proven the best protection for model r/c engines.

I start my 100 and 150 the same way -- prop at 11 o'clock, ignition on, choke, 1/2 throttle, on the 3rd flip it starts and dies, then choke off, throttle just above idle, 5 flips or so and the beast is alive and ready.

After the engine is broken and the needles set try this alternative method for starting. Set throttle above idle, ignition OFF, flip 3 times. Ignition on, flip once and it normally starts. This method avoids over primeing the engine. For thefirst start on a cold morning it will take 5 flips with choke on.
Its a great engine! enjoy.

Ditto. Choke on - two or three flips - runs and dies. Choke off - four or five flips and off I go. Same procedure year round too. The cold or heat doesn't seem to affect it. Recently changed from Amsoil 100:1 to Bel-Ray 50:1. Just because.
