Default Poulan 36

Did you look at the tag near the handle. It seems Poulan is kinda liberal with their CC rating and the ones Ive looked at are showing on the tag 33cc.
Bunch of those have been done and CH even sells a kit (pricey) for it under New stuff.
I belive that all of them under 46cc are pretty much the same.
Flipflop and Bn120 seem to be up on these

I noticed a poulan "Woodshark" at Menards today for $97 and was wondering if there are any specifics to this conversion. It is the 36 and I know that someone must have done this one. It looks like a decent deal as long as it is comparable to the G38.

Default Poulan 36

I have a 36cc saw that I used to trim a tree with today they are great little engines with timing advance but the coil mounts to the saw housing and not the engine so some clever thinking might be used to get it to work ,I have not seen it done yet but that does not mean it can't be done, the weight is close to the 46cc most use the electronic ign. on the 42cc and down, for a easy to do engine the 33cc homelite saw or 45cc saw take your pick the 45cc has alot more poop than a g38 and the 33cc just a little under.

Default poulan 42

Here's a shot of my Poulan 42cc in the process of conversion.

CH ignition kit. Sensor bolts right to the front mounting bolts.

As you can see...there is NO mag attachment points to the motor itself. This is true for all but the 46cc motor.

Not saying that it can't be done...I'm sure you could fashion a magneto bracket coming off the same to front bolts and re-time the flywheel for the new mag location.

The coversion kit is super easy though...bolt and go!

Good Luck!
