Looks like the Remington 41 conversion that Bennett (B&B) sold some time ago. RCIGN will know.

Default engine?

The cylinder looks like a US41 with the three bolt holes in the exhaust. Maybe an older Quadra

Definetly is a remington engine, believe 38cc engine, right out of a remington saw.

It is a remington for sure. I have the exact one. Those engines were out of the older remington mighty might saws from the early 80's.

The Letter E on the head is not really the letter E. It is a casting that gets machined down , then it looks like a E. The 2 outside lines of the E originally extend upwards, so it looks like a E on the bottom then changes into a U.

It runs good, i had a 20x6 prop on mine and it flew a 20lb plane scale like.

The connecting rod, rod bearings, bore are like a quadra but the crankcase is a different design. Also the crankshaft bearings are different .

Is it possible to get a muffler for this older engine?

I'm not sure if there is a muffler available for that engine. I mig welded my own muffler with some .100" sheetmetal. It's easy..

I had one long ago ran good but the carb only had one needle. Strong engine. Does yours have two needles?
