Default Small gas engine question

Has any one had any experience with this small gas engine made in Italy? It is said to run on 40-1 gas oil mix! Seems like it may be ok in the right small airplane. Thank Capt,n

All you need is an alluminium machinist to fabricate your prop hub, engine mount and trim the fat off of her and it might be a very interesting project. So where can you get the specs and pricing on this little jewel?

In all fairness it is hard to judge the size of that engine by the picture as I have seen some very large R/C cars.

judging by the carb, the size seems the same as the Webra .91 gas engine. Webra has crankcase rotary valve, this car engine has piston porting.

It's a 39. (There ad says Not a little 21 Nitro engine but a .39 Gasoline.......) It's on the MECOA site down near the bottom on the right. Cool cars. The Italian site shows the engine in different configs although I don't know if MECOA can get the air and marine versions.

This is the [link=http://www.quicktechhobby.com/Car/Compagnucci/moto_automodcomp1.gif]exploded view[/link] of the engine. It seems easy to adapt for airplane use.

I also found [link=http://www.rconline.net/magazin-2001/mac-6/mac-6.shtml]this article [/link] on the .39 engine

Didn't a company named Campagnucci sell something like that a while back? I may have the spelling wrong.

Ed, Quite some time ago realy. Read the article (in German I'm afraid). I think that was in the nineties of previous century.
