Please let us know how it runs. I have one also waiting to be run. I think the muffler and single exhaust pipe could be better. What prop are you starting with?

Pat is right on. Leave hole in plate. A good way to start a engine is to give it a shot of fuel in carb. This is kinda like priming it. Have the choke a little way open and the engine should start right up and stay running. As it warms up open choke to full open. Every engine has a certain idle setting and choke setting...if done right...they start right up and stay running. Best Regards Capt,n

Agreed. Why start screwing with it before you have even ATTEMPTED to start it?
What if it works just fine right from the factory? [X(] I know, I know--can't be. But you should at least try it before you start modifying the carb.
I prime a new carb by taking both needles out. Then give a couple small squirts of fuel in both needle holes. Let it soak in a minute or two. Squirt the holes again. Let it soak in. Now put the needles back in. Run them all the way in. Now back them both out 2 turns.
You're ready to start choking and priming the engine. Close the choke. Move throttle stick to wide open. Turn on the ignition unit. Flip until it pops and tries to run. Now open the choke. Throttle down to high idle. Flip flip flip. Should start pretty easily.
