Default Spark Plugs

My Brison 4.8 Twin uses Champion RDJ7J spark plugs. What is the NGK (and other brand's) equivalent to that plug?

Don't hold me to it but I think the direct cross from champ is the NGK BPMR6F. I'm not 100% on that though.

Several different plugs will work in that engine. I prefer the BPMR6F that TxDiveBomber listed as it is the smaller 5/8" tapered seat plug. Most of these engines came with larger, washered, 3/4" plugs but the numbers are not handy right now. The choice kinda depends on what ignition you are using on the engine. If you have metal capped plug leads, you have to match the plug size to the cap size. If using the black rubber boots on the plug leads, you can use either size plug. Since switching from Champion to the NGK plug, I have never looked back!

It does use the 5/8" tapered seat and the ignition is CH and has the rubber boots. I don't meanto start a "holy war", but I've had good results with NGK.

A 7 or 8 heat range with Champion is equivalent to a 7 heat range with NGK. There is a heat range chart at the sparkplugs.com site.

Cross reference to RDJ7J is ...NGK BMR6F

The NGK BPMR6F has a projecting tip and as such is not the correct cross reference.

Might not be the exact cross reference but it sure works well and has become a very popular replacement for the Champion. Our engines seem to like the extended tip.

I have a set of "current" Brison manuals in .PDF format, and it says:

>All new Brison engines now come with a short style NGK BPMR7A plug which accepts a >common rubber boot >and also the popular Bosch metal resistor cap.

FWIW
