I will try a 20x10 when I get it back together. I know I was taking a chance when I bought it but I had to see. I don't compare a $200 dollar engine with a $600 dollar engine any ways. I wasn't looking for a DA 50 type performance just a good running 50. I will do the mods you suggest Rich and see what I end up with thanks , Bob

Thats a shame... was it in a crash ? or did it do that just while flying ? Im dissappointed with the casting quality of the SV 26 also. I ground off all the ears and added a thick aluminum plate between the reeds and the case. No problem since...
Is there some way you cann attach a plate to the rear of the engine (bolts holding a rear cover on perhaps ?)

Hi!
I maidened the plane yesterday. Plane and engine was brand new. When i came back today, the engine-mounts broke of just after i started the engine ( i was letting the engine heat up before flying). So no, i didnt crash.

Grind the lugs Off and put long threaded rod thru the cases and secure to the mounting plate wth the threaded rod thru the cases it will never break then!

That looks nice, I wonder if I'll ever get one as a replacement for the one they promised me after the 50 they sent me destroyed it's self on the first fight and almost shook my plane to pieces. Waiting........................................... ............................

Pictures are wonderful things to look at. Unfortunately they don't tell you a thing about the metalurgy, the tolerances, bearings used and alignment, piston cylinder fit, crank hardness and welding quality, carb quality, porting, or any other factor that determines if an engine is worth having. Keep that kind of stuff in mind when you see the low prices.
You can make up a nice 3d model out of clay, fire it, and paint it to look like the best engine ever made but it won't ever run. Heck, you can even buy a good engine made by someone else and advertise a picture of that engine as one of the products you make. I mean, ( in the manufacturer's mind and thoughts) just how smart are the people that are going to buy this stuff anyway?

I'm sure there will be volunteers to be the first to test it out and start giving feedback on it. I remember when everyone was nervous about buying the DL50.

Hi.
Re. the money to return the engine to China. Well, you don't have to worry anymore about that, as the engine is now imported/serviced by RC Showcase. Yes, the same people who bring us the ZDZ /RCS/Roto series of engines, now imports/services the SV engines. So, you can buy US, and have it serviced in the US as well.
By the way, the new SV 50 is advertised @ $360.00 from RC Showcase w/muffler and standoffs.
I'm also a satisfied user of the first SV 50. But, I did have to adjust the timing as it was set @ 60deg. btdc from the factory! [No wonder people were damaging the engines, as such an advanced timing will cause problems/damages to any engine not designed for it.] But all is OK with the timing @ 30deg. btdc.

Good luck with that. After our SV50 experience, we wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole. It cracked our fuse, broke the ears off the case, and destroyed a $20.00 prop in the process. We have never seen anything shake so violently. Totally out of balance crankshaft, and misdrilled prop adaptor. Just garbage in our opinion...
