Default Is this a BME 50?

Got this on a purchase, was told it was a BME 50, Runs like a champ, just need to get the muffler fixed, (one of the exhaust tubes) came a little loose...

But when I got curious and was searching just to replace the muffler, I noticed that this may not be a BME 50?

Here are some pics for you guys to help me with......

The mufflers on Chief Aircraft dont match...Chief's pic shows it square and my engine is rectangular. Bolt pattern looks like it will match, but may not seal...

Engine fires up on one flip, flys great. Just dont think or know if its a BME. I would like a new muffler, but I could fix it if I had too.

Any ideas?

Sorry but it's not a BME 50-not even close, really. I see many cosmetic differences including different kind of mount, spark plug angle and location, different cyl, different case, etc. BME exhaust was/is oval shaped and I thnk the head and top of crankcase was one piece. Here's a BME 50:

Looks like a modified weedwacker engine.

It may be an Echo engine, which was the base design of the BME 50.
