If this link works here's Napa's 1" silicone heater hose. It comes in three foot lengths and costs about $75

The part# is 1516 in belts and hoses under parts pro search.

Acording to Pat. 5 to 1 is a good starting point. So if you have a 2 cubic inch engine you need a 10 cubic inch can. Header length is much more important than can size.

I have 2 questions.... #1 is the header pipe length used to tune this type of exhaust or is the stinger lenght used for fine tunning...or both???#2 How about a pressure tap...where should it be placed if your glow engine depends on tank pressure. Or is it best to use a pump of some kind? thanks Capt,n

I use header pipe length for tuning, and the length of the stinger for sound purposes. Longer is quieter. Probably the highest pressure would be somewhere on the pipe just before the cann. But I can't see a glow motor making much pressure inside a 1" pipe. Guess that would depend on how mant exit holes you put in the exhaust side.

I just happen on this post..... read it and was pleased to see the results....
I havn't seen any RPM's posted but I have been wanting cans for 2-engines so I will give these a try....
If you are not a welder and want to make these bomb proof, you can BRAZE weld them....

ANyone tried doing it this way??
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_92...tm.htm#9266848
This is for a homebuilt aircraft, so the NUmbers are a bit big, but the same principal could be aplied.
Wondering if there would be a significant loss of power??
would it clogup with gunk??

I made a simple an inexpensive mousse can muffler for my little G20 which gave an increase of approximately 800 rpm over the stock unit.

Is anybody on this thread having trouble finding 16oz. aluminum Bud bottles? I know some people can't easily get them in their area. I couldn't either, but finally broke down and special ordered a case from a rep, (for a whopping $48... and I hate Bud), making for the most expensive domestic beer drinking experience I have ever had.
I have a bunch (of empties) left over if anybody needs some for their DIY canister muffler project, (what, you thought I was going to just dump out the beer? Even I have my principles!)
I will sell them for what I paid, plus the shipping costs, plus $1 for gas to and from the Post Office. (Sorry, I can’t ship them full, as the weight makes for a prohibitively heavy package.)
Anyway, if you want some, just send me a PM.

This is what I use to make all my exhaust, landing gear, tons of repairs, there is no equal! Watch the video! You'll love it. I have over 30 planes and I have use it longer than I choose to remember. I have never had a joint or weld come apart. www.durafix.com [8D]

I used that stuff on aluminum headers and they usually always end up leaking or falling apart....
Never had too much good luck with that stuff....
Plus, you have to heat the ***** out of the WHOLE item that you are trying to fix.....
THe entire Object has to be the same temp as the repair, or it will not take the alumaflux.... and you end up with a cold weld....
Just my experience with that stuff...

Maybe I missed it but how do you determine the distance from the head to the silicon stop? Is this trial and error? I have a 25cc Gt Brillelli (converted Toro). Loud little bugger.
