On my one gallon gas can I am using a in-line filter that was purchased at a small engine shop, something like one that goes on the line with a lawn mower engine.
Question: Do I need to run an in-line filter from tank to gas engine on my G-38? If so, will a Sullivan Crap Trap work with gasoline?
Thanks,
Ed

To my knowledge the fuel filters we use for glow engines are nowhrere near sufficient for a gas engine. If you've ever pulled the filter screen out of a gas carb you will see that the mesh on that screen is way smaller than the one in a crap trap. Use a gas filter. B&B has an in tank felt filter that can be used if your fill line is seperate from your line to the carb. These same tank filters are available at lawn mower shops and hardware stores. Otherwise it's a good idea to use an inline filter. It's much easier than replacing that tiny filter in your carb.

Go to a small engine shop and get an in tank filter for chainsaw or weedwacker. Its the same as your tank clunk pickup with a felt or nylon mesh screen built in. Ihave one in my fuel jug and one in my plane tanks.

Wal-Mart, or ANY Home Improvement store....lawn equipment...in line paper filter for riding lawn mower...fits just dandy inside the fuel jug.
I use one IN the jug, and one (smaller) in the fill line between pump and airplane.
Cheap. Effective.
