Default Echo Gt 1000 16cc Gas Engine Compression

I am new to gas engine. I just bought an old gas engine. It is a Echo Gt 1000 which is 16cc. I am planning to install electronics ignition from Hobbycity.

The main concern I have before I spend any money on it is the compression. I am able to turn over the engine with its 5/16 drive shaft with out a lot off effort. With my small glow engines, it is almost impossible to turn over the engine with rotating the shaft alone.

I think the engine is worn out. Can I still buy piston and rings for this engine?

Thanks.

Try it first. Some of the lawn equipment engines have a small channel above the exhaust that lets the compresion leak out to make it easier to start, but when running not much can get out in the time it has at 8000 rpm. Ryobi is like that, it feels like no compression, but these two strokes are hard to wear out if you keep oil in them.

Mine felt that way too. Always used a Sullivan starter to fire it but it was pretty decent for what it was. Not much power but for a small Cub etc...

I am going to get the electronics ignition from Hobby City. Where can I get the tiny magnet for the sensor?

Thanks.

Go to Buy & Sell at the top of the page, In the pull down menu go to Find Ads. Type in XYZ.
They are the USA dealers for the XYZ line.

They sell the same stuff except they offer real service

I use the magnets out of a kid's toy. The toy should be recalled, but I don't think they did, it uses the magnets to stick columns to metal balls to form things.

You do gyros?
