Just wanted to know what you guys think of ZDZ engines. I'm getting close to purchasing my first gas motor for my 1/3 scale Extra. The ZDZ seem to be a wieght saver, and a saver on the wallet compared to the DA's and 3w's.
Let me know!

I would like to take this opportunity to throw my $.02 … at least about the folks at RC Showcase. I have not had any experience with other gas engine manufacturers and importers but I have been in this hobby/sport for 30+ years and dealt with my share of poor customer service.
Some may disagree, but if you go with ZDZ I do not think you will find a nicer, more helpful group than the people at RC Showcase.
I have sent emails that are answered in minutes! If they are open, they answer their phone. If Andrea is there she will answer your emails right away or at least tell you she is getting an answer for you.
They support the ZDZ line all the way. I have a 40 and an 80 … I am very happy so far.
Keep in mind, that dealing with overseas suppliers and customs on this end can be complicated…. So things might not go smoothly at times. This is true for any importer. But I will always give the benefit of the doubt to RC Showcase! They have done right by me several times so far.
Again… you might not agree
My $.02

I'll have to add my vote for the folks at RC Showroom to the rest of the opinions here. RCS is a great example of the way that a customer oriented businesss should be operated. I just bought 2 engines from them, a ZDZ40B and a ZDZ50. I had to wait a while for these engines to come in but it was certainly worth the wait.
I had a small delivery problem with a missing item from my order but a quick call to Andrea quickly resolved the issue without a hassle and I had the missing item in a few days.
You couldn't ask for a friendlier, or more willing to help their customers, business.

I too am looking at my first gasser in a 1/3 scale #20 aerobat. I am waffleing with G-62 and ZDZ 60. I hear that RC Showcase has good service and ZDZ's are great engines but why did you need the service?
The main reason for me to go the G-62 route is perceived reliabilty and simplicity for a newcomer but I can get one cheap too ($100 less than ZDZ60) Am I wrong? Should I go for the ZDZ?
Oh yeah, I want 3D performance.
Thanks

In my case, I needed service because I was trying to set my ZDZ 80 up on a tuned canister. RCS was very helpful in working with me to get it right.
When I couldn't get enough fuel flow to the engine because the canister was so efficient, RCS thought I should try another carb, they insisted on sending it to me NO CHARGE, even though I wanted to pay for it, even though the engine was out of its warranty period-which btw is 30 months.
With all their help the setup is now working awesome.
I would not hesitate to buy the ZDZ 60 over the ZENOAH, the $100 diff is well worth the benefits of the electronic igniton alone!
This will make a big difference in weight, starting ease and smoothness vs the Zenoah's magneto igniton.
