I have had a ZDZ 40 on order for about a month now, I have contacted rcshowcase three weeks in a row and asked when to expect shipment, each time they have returned my request with the answer it would be going out at the end of the week.
I'm just not sure THE END OF WHAT WEEK!
Maybe I should just stay with glow, their easier to get. what if I need parts? Is it going to be another "forever" to get them?
guess If it's not shipped next week I'll cancel the order and put my MVVS 150 in the ULTIMATE.

If your in a hurry for a gas engine you better plan ahead. This is my expierence in ordering them,
BME 50......Six weks
Brison 4.2..Five weeks
Brison 2.4..Three weeks
Brison 3.2..Three weeks
I have heard that the ZDZ is worth the wait.
I would hang in there ay least another two weeks.
Getting the big props is almost as bad.

I just ordered a ZDZ 80 from Germany last night. Received an e-mail this morning telling me it would ship first of April. For the $150 savings it's worth the wait. (Total price shipped = $455). http://WWW.ZDZ-MOTOR.de/html/english.html

While you may beable to get a Brison fairly soon, don't place your order today for delivery 3-5 weeks out. They have a bad habit of charging your credit card for the full amount the day you place the order. How do I know, I placed an order for a 3.2 on 1 Feb, my credit card was billed that very day. I'm told it'll be a couple more weeks before they're ready.

LEW, when did you order yours?
EARNSBARGER, They haven't charged my card yet! one thing good. I have a friend who runs BRISONs and he says the same thing! they charge but don't ship right away.
What upset me is when they tell you it's going to be right away and right away never comes!
KING AIR, I SENT YOU MAIL.
MAYBE WE SHOULD ALL GO THE GERMANY WAY!!!!!!
THANKS GUYS,

I knew someone was gonna ask that!! I believe it was the first week of Feb. The receipt only shows Mar. 7th. and shipped the 8th. I ordered an 80 about a week later, don't expect it til April. My friend got one in Jan. and I borrowed or traded his for mine, he doesn't need it yet, and I've installed it on a Hanger9 1/3 Cap. I just finished running a gallon through it tonight. Hope to test fly this weekend.

One gallon and I'm a believer. I haven't had it full throttle but it has a TON of thrust. It's very smooth for a single lung. Excellent throttle response, doesn't seem to be real thirsty. At 4000 to 5000 rpm it's burning about 1 oz. / min. including some idle time. It seems a bit noisy, in my backyard, next to the house. Using the Pitts from Rcshowcase. Probably not bad in the field. The only problem is with the ball links they send for the choke and throttle, I decided against them and went with steering arm controls for a finer throttle action.

I JUST HEARD FROM MIKE DOOLEY OF RCSHOWCASE, He said that they were further backordered!!!!
Further backordered is a LONG way from "IT WILL BE SHIPPED NEXT WEEK" (three weeks in a row) I don't care how good of running engine it is If that is the best of their customer service then I'll pass on RCSHOWCASE!!!!!!! (and pass the news around)
I touched bases with the company in GERMANY and am waiting for an E-MAIL back. but I still think I'll mount my MVVS 150 in the ULTIMATE BIPE for now and see what happens at a later date with the ZDZ-40

I would have a little more patience when ordering any of the hobby items made in small quantities. I have waited a couple of months for ZDZ engines. They don't charge your card until they ship. No problem with parts or service. The factory is in the Czech Republic and they haven't been able to meet the increasing demand, so there is a little bit of a wait. The engines have to go through customs and because of the terrorists, the international shipping has been slowed down. The reason they can't always give you a straight answer is because it's in the hands of the shippers and the inspectors. I'm sure they know how many engines they should receive from the factory, but until they have them in their hands they can't tell the customers the exact date. If RCS has the engines in stock, they'll give you prompt delivery.
The situation isn't unusual or all that painful. If it were Harley Davidson, you'd be paying over list price when the demand exceeded supply and there was a waiting list. Be thankful there is no price gouging.

HeY Lew,
How much does that combo weigh without fuel, ready to fly? After Holding a 3W85b2 in my hands, I'm thinking about getting an engine this week not next month.
Diablo: All I can say after 11 Harleys in the last 24 years is 3 letters........BMW
Thanks, Dave

I don't have a digital scale, yet, but on the baby scale that I calibrated to13.5 lbs. it weighs 22 3/4 lbs. I'm probable off a little but could be either way. With (2) 1400 ma packs on the wing tube and an 1100 ma on the engine box with the ignition, and (2) 32oz tanks just in front of the wing tube. (don't panic - one is for smoke). No lead added to balance right on the cg. I did rebuild the engine box instead of using aluminum standoffs.
