New 3W -100
I'm going to be flying my new 3W-100 in an Aeroworks 33% Edge 540. It weighs about 26 lbs. I just wonder if there are many fellows out there that bought these and how are they performing. It seems that the popular engine in the 3W line is the 106. I wonder why the new 100 had such a small marketing life to it.

The 100 is fine! Just break it in, set the needles right, and it will serve you well. I had an 80, 100 and now a QS106 in my kit version of the 105" AW Edge. The 100 did a great job. Mine weighs 24 pounds and flies just fine...

New 3W -100
Hi,
I have the new 3W100 QS. Bought just a week or two before the new 106 came.
Mine is mounted in a 36% 3W Extra 330s. It weighs around 30 lb. Engine runs prefect. No problems. Lots of vertical performance. Hovers at 1/4 throttel. Though not run in yet it pulls 6400 rpm with a Airmodels 25x12 3-blade, 6700 rpm with a Bolly 26x12 2-blade.
Why they went for a 106? Well I guess they figured out that they could get more cc and power out of the same sized engine with the same weight and same price. And that is sure a sales argument in competition with others.
The newest 3W100 is a first class engine.
