Default C&H output voltage?

I'm finishing up a build with a Brillelli 46GT and a C&H electonic ignition. After attaching the battery, I'm getting voltage to the input side of the ignition, but none on the output side.

Should there be voltage coming out of the ignition system, or does this only occur when the prop hub is turning?

Thanks!

Ott

You do not test the plug side with volt meter unless you want to fry the meter, Install battery and put the plug in the plug cap while not installed in the engine, If it is a plug wire like the Xel then just turn the prop hub to see spark, If it is not shielded make sure the plug is grounded.

You get output voltage when the crank hub magnet passes the sensor, that is the switch that tells the coil to fire off a 20 or 30 thousand volt charge to the plug. You will likely fry a meter if you use one to try to detect this.

Now I would change the title of the thread so it doesn't give C&H a bad image. How about "C&H output voltage?". They are a very good group of guys. I called them twice last weeken and they were so very helpful. Great company.

Title changed. As suggested, I pulled the plug & checked for spark, A-OK. So, I then tied it down, fueled it up, and it fired right up! Now for the maiden.

Thanks for the help.
