Default Led to shown ignition on

Not being very electrical or electronically minded, is there an easy way to tie in a led light to show 'ignition on' in the ignition battery /switch circuit, and if so how?

Try this
Use a 100 ohm resistor is series with the LED for 4.8v packs
about 150 ohm resistor for 6 volt.
It's not critical, just to current leimit the LED.
It will draw about 20mA so don't worry about draining your battery
