I am getting ready to purchase a Hanger 9 1.50 size P-51. They recommend a 23-26CC gasser. However, in the manual, they recommend a 26cc-35cc. I already own a BCMA 26 which I am very happy with. It seems to me the 26cc would be less than adequate for the P-51. The P-51 has an 80 inch wingspan with 1100 sq in of wingloading, with a total weight of 13-14 pounds. Anyone have any engine recommendations in the 30-45cc range? Thanks in advance for the info!

That plane was built around the Evolution 35-GT... it is no longer available. It has been replaced by the 40-GX. If you want a good deal on a 35 GT, PM me. I have nothing to put mine in... The 40-GX (same physical size as the 35-GT) would be a better choice but a very expensive one.

Thank you all for the replies. I can see that engine size for this bird is all over the place. Can you drill into the firewall and install new blind nuts to accomodate an engine that mounts with standoffs?
