I've put my P-47 loss behind me and I am finishing my next project. Question, how will I know if I've done any damage to my engine. A guy at the club said Zenoahs are known for soft cranks. It wasn't a lawn dart, but was a high speed inverted non-landing. Should I just put it in a stand and run it...? I noticed a "slight" deviation on the hub with the magnet where it comes past the sensor. Is my cranck bent...? What to do....?

Take the spark plug out and use a cordless drill and spin it over[slow] and see what happens and also listen for any noises.If your using a single bolt tighten it down or a shorter one and turn it cw if ya have to.Use a socket and short extension.1/4 inch should work.It wont matter wich way it turns just to find out this info.Do not use an electric starter or a 110 volt drill,they will spin it to fast.A 110 volt drill will work as long as its variable speed.

If you are in doubt about your ability to properly check your engine and for peace of mind sent it to the Zenoah expert Ralph Cunningham at RC Ignitions and have him check it. When you get it back it will be as good as new and his rates are very reasonable. I have never heard that one about Zen's having soft cranks.
