Default Husky 4.2

Anyone know anything about this engine? I've been offered one in trade to use in a T.F. 1/5 P-51 and I've never seen one of them run. I want a good reliable engine. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

What about the mechanical advance on the engine and using the very small spark plugs? Is there no problems with that? Thanks

As long as you don't try and start the engine with the throttle lever open the mechanical advance is better. The advance is accurately tied to the throttle position instead of an arbitrary rpm reference. Auto advance (retard??) originated as a sales tool, not a performance enhancement. Mechanical advance engines can "kick back" if the throttle is open during starting. The ignition is too far advanced for starting, right? Small plugs work as good as the big ones.
