I am picking up an Aeroworks Katana with a BME 105 on it. I was wondering what the best 3D prop was for this engine. I was thinking of a Vess 27A to start with but I really didn't have a clue.

I have Wildhare Edge with the 105 in it. With a 3W 26/10 wood it will
easily hover at 1/4 throttle. At 1/2 throttle it will pull unlimited vertical.
Awesome engine...the only problem I have had with it is prop slippage
because of the single bolt prop hub...

Take a look at the laminated props that PAU is selling. I tried one of their 26-10s on my RCGF 100 and was very surprised how well it worked out. My opinion is that it performewd better than a Menz 27-10. A bit heavier than the usual wood prop because of the laminate, but it's as stiff as a carbon prop. I think you might find the experiment more than worthwhile.

Any idea why the BMW engines take smaller props? I am installing a 102 and the recommended prop is 26x10 with a max of 27x10.
A DA or DL 100 breaks in at 27x10 but really comes to life with 28x10.
Why the difference?
