Default Need Quadra 35 cc advice

I picked up a 35 cc Quadra (US engines) from a friend of mine the other day. It's got a broken crankshaft, but he just gave me the engine. I went to Tower Hobbies and looked at their parts listing for this engine. They said that their was a running change to the 35 and 41 cc Quadras. The crankshaft is now bigger on the back end it sounds like:

US Engines had made a running change in the rear crankshaft size making it bigger in diameter. This spring starter is for the new version, and it will not fit the older version. The new one-way bearing inner diameter is approximately 12mm. **update- a pitts style muffler is now coming with the motor instead of the black muffler pictured in the catalog.

So, do I need to buy new bearings and seals as well as the crank? Thanks for your time.

I didn't realize that US engines had a direct support forum. I will post this there as well, moderator may delete this post if they wish.

Default Q35

Just had a US engine apart yesterday..The US crank is wider between the bearings..The Q35 has a bronze thrust washer on each end of the crank, next to the bearing..The US crank has no thrust washer, so is wider..The US crank would probably fit if the thrust washers are left out....

I was under the impression that they were the same engine.

OLD Quadras came from Canada...2 or 3 companies later and a few minor design changes the current engines are called US engines...There was a company called Plastic Engine Technology in there somewhere....

Rcign:
The last US41 I had apart had no thrust washers in it either. Don"t like the crank running against the brg. PETCO was in town here. Tried to build an engine with mostly plastic parts, crankcase, flywheel, etc. building Quadras as a sideline. When they went under Clouse bought them out.
