Default How do you quite a Brison 3.2

Hi. A friend on mine has a Brison 3.2 on a 29% Edge and wants to compete in IMAC. He has the stock mufflers and this thing is really loud. Anyone have a good muffler, prop combination for this engine. Thanks

Default Stock muffler

That's a laugh, the Abel muffler is a noise deflector not a muffler. In fact I think it amplifies the noise.

What works for me is a Slimline or a J & A peacekeeper with a Mejzlik 21/10

Mine has a BCM wraparound muffler with a Zinger 22x8 prop. Not super quiet, but definitely well within the IMAC standards.

Default 3.2 muffler

I am running a Brison 3.2 on a Yellow AC Zero. I am using a Bisson "vertical" muffler that has the main chamber parallel to the cylinder .. fits nicely in the small cowling, and a pitts-style would not fit this setup.

It's much quieter than the stock abell muffler, but does cost a few hundred RPM. FWIW, I am running a Mejzlik 3-blade 19-11 narrow blade prop, which is very very good for the Zero, but probably not suitable for aerobatics...

A J&A Peacekeeper with a Mejzlik 22x10 or Menz S 22x8 will put you at 98@3M.

Default Quiet combo

I have the same aircraft with the Fox version of the 3.2. I used a Bisson pitts muffler ( not sure if I had to trim the bottom of the firewall for it to clear ) and am currently using an MSC 22x10 prop.
It was reasonably quiet with a Zinger 22x6/10 but went to an extremely quiet note with the MSC. I will say that the engine is very heavily loaded with this prop and wouldn't be a good combo for 3D but for IMAC it should be fine. I am tempted to try a 21x10 MSC but haven't tried it yet. The prop is a major factor in noise, a well designed wide blade prop can be a real treat both in performance and noise abatement.

gang try a 22 x 8 bambula for the untimited easy pull on the motor less RPM than a 22 x 8 menz pull like a menz++, 3d is on point and imac is great serious downline braking.....expect about a 200 RPM drop from what you get on the same size mezn without any loss of performace.....

Default A&M 3.2

Definately Slimline and a 20x10 or 22x8 prop.
