Default Zdz 40

How well do the ZDZ 40's run, break-in and perform?? Also what is the difference between the ZDZ 40 RV-L and the ZDZ 40 Sport? Would one be good on a Midwest Extra?

ZDZ 40 Sportsman is reed valve & the RV is a rotary valve. The rotary valve is supposadlly designed for more power.

For the Midwest plane, I'd pick a light weight 50cc motor. DA-50, Brison 3.2 (on special now less$), or the new ZDZ-NG-50. The Midwest plane will weigh 15+ lbs. The ZDZ-NG is designed to work on in-cowl mufflers. The first version liked tuned cans to make decent power. With a Bisson Pitts muffler, the 1st version 50 made about the same power as the ZDZ-40. The DA and Brison motors work well on in-cowl mufflers.
