ZDZ 40 Center Bolt
The center spinner bolt should have hex inside down inside the hub..A deep metric socket will fit..Get a 10mm bolt from the hardware store, remove the spark plug, and screw the bolt down far enough to keep the piston from coming up..Or take the spinner bolt all the way out, deep six the six bolts, and use a metric bolt through the prop to hold the hub on..You can tap the prop bolt fot the spinner bolt....Six bolts are not needed on a 40 cc engine....There is only one 5/16 bolt on a Quadra 100....

ZDZ 40 Center Bolt
RCIGN1 - The single bolt idea is such a great one....so easy to do, and NEVER even dawned on me to think of it....I like my ZDZ 40 a lot, but I *hate* having to putz around with six screws all the time.
Where does one get a bolt head drilled and tapped for the spinner screw??

I don't know what the setup is on the ZDZ-40, but on the 80 you couldn't use a metric center bolt instead of the stock stud. The reason is that the stud is 8mm where it threads into the crank, then there is a collar on it, and finally 10mm diameter for the prop.

I had a 40 here..I didn't want to drill a prop just to test it, so I used a bolt instead of the stud..Seems like the thread was 8mm by 1.25 or 1.5 pitch..Worked fine..The Stud on the 40 is 8mm all the way...

ZDZ 40 Center Bolt
Thanks guys!
I already have a ZDZ drill guide, and 6 bolts look cool, and I don't change props that often, so it's not a major problem.
FYI...I have had trouble in the past with a 40cc (Brison) trying to keep the prop tight enough to avoid slipping when using an aluminum back plate and spinner.
RCIGN1 - I might try the bolt in the plug hole, or the old rope trick. Do you remember that? Push some rope in the plug hole. You're idea jogged my memory.
