Default WW2 RC aircraft engine

Hello. I'm new to the board and this is my first RC related piece. Please let me know if I need to do an intro. I was given this engine a few days ago and am trying to find out more about it, maybe get it running. From what I know it's from a WW2 era drone aircraft that was used in target training. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section this is a HUGE forum.

Welcome to RCU halfton!

This forum is good, but there is a better one.

I'll move this to the Gas Engines Forum, We've got some great engine gurus there that can probably help you out.

It looks like one I have . A 1944 Righter,16.9cu.in., 19.3 lbs,8 hp @3800 RPM. Was on a OQ-3 drone . Mine has a 30" prop . Walter Righter worked for Reginald Denny(movie star) who made the Dennymite model engine & the Denny airplanes. Your missing a few things for it . Max H.

Last year at the Herkimer Cty Fair, where our club had a booth, a fellow stopped by who said that he had built RC / Drone engines for a local company during WW2 . I found reference to the company here: http://modelenginenews.org/drj/ok_twin.html On the surface there's a resemblance...

Not sure but it looks like the little 2 cylinder brother to a 4 cylinder "McCulloch" drone engine I almost bought for a Benson Gyrocopter I was building. Here's a photo of a 2 cylinder McCulloch "deluxe" model with a counter rotating gear box to accomodate counter rotating props.

Wow. Thanks for the ID. I'd like to see some pics of a complete one if you could.
