:spinnyeye FlipFlop How did you make your mount? This is a impressive motor for the buck. I have it in a sig cap and a cub. I wonder how it would do with a CH system ,keep me up to date if you make any other mods.

Those are the Hanger9 motor mounts. You are supposed to be able to get them from Horizon but the last time I looked they were backordered. A friend gave me this set. Right now, I'm planning on running this one on the stock ignition, I just put a C-H ignition on a Poulan 30 last month and right now I'm keeping the Homey cheap! Might go back and lighten the flywheel some more to help the motor accelerate faster. That is the most noticable difference between the Poulan with the c-h and the Homey, without the flywheel, the Poulan accelerates faster. Man I tell you though, this motor is running so smoothly now, that I hate to mess with it any more.

That crankcase looks a lot like the 36cc Polan that I'm converting. I have the CH ing for it and I bought the nylon ring with the magnet also. I'm just waiting for my bro in law to turn me a prop hub from aluminum. I dont have any metalworking tools. I found that a Brison muffler (noise deflector) fits the Polan if you drill the mounting holes a scoch bigger. If I can figure how to send pictures on here I will. but it will be awhile.

Look in the "poulan 30" thread to see how to modify the Hanger9 mounts to work on your 36cc. The crankcases are similar but the one on the Homey has a flat section that can use the mounts without having to make the little spacers (or I guess you could mill the bottom of the poulan case flat)

Hey Flipflop thanks for the advise...I have two HN engine mounts...I'lll modify one for the Polan...by the way, how or what do you use to machine the aluminum with...like the fins or the flywheel to get a nice surface...I've tried the coursest grinding stone but they all just load up with aluminum...I have a little cutter for my dremel but it takes for ever and it reminds me of the DENTIST!!! TIA

haha, well, I'm a dental lab technician, used to work in a machine shop. On the Poulan 46, I first turned the flywheel on my lathe, then removed the rest of the fins with a moto-tool and a pear shaped burr, smoothed it up a little with a heatless stone (non-clogging), then spent the rest of the Saturday morning sanding it with a black&decker detail sander. shine it up a little with an sos pad. then check the balance on your high point balancer. lots of work, but you can make the stock flywheel look like a custom piece.

That depends on how patient I am. I'd like to put it in something like the Lanier 80" Cap, but if I get in a real hurry to fly it, I'll put it in my Ultra Stik. The High Point balancer is just a precision balancer us to balance props, wheels and such. A quick search at Tower found the Dubro which is about the same thing:

Right now I'm working on the Hanger9 Edge with the Poulan 30 in it. Hopefully I'll have it going this weekend or the next.
