I bought an Evolution 35 used. It took a year but I finally finished my World Models GS spitfire, started the engine ran fine, took the maiden flight, flew great, came down with a perfect landing refueled and couldn't get it started
I have no history on this engine As you put 4.8v to the module the LED flashes red once
Is the module bad? Is it repairable? Is there any other things to check?
Please help I have this awsome plane now grounded

The Module is OK. Your Voltage is too low.
The ignition needs 2S LiPo
If you use nicad cells, be sure to have 6 cells.
BTW, there should be an orange label on the HT lead that states the required voltage. The ICU-L ignition starts to act up below 6.4 Volts. I believe the newer versions can operate down to 6.0 Volts though.

The module says
Electronic ignition
with controlled advance ignition
16 bit microprocessor system
4.8v
I hope this is enough info it's all I have
the hall sensor doesn't have any kind of plug so I can't try the sensor

If it also says on the box EZM-1+something, I fear your luck has run out.
These ignitions were made by Vlach electronics and are no longer serviced, nor produced.
I suggest you either get an MSR/ICU update ignition + prop drive washer from Horizon (or me), or fit a RCexcl ignition.

Besides the mounting of the hall sensor is there anything I should be aware of if I buy an RCEXL ignition
And what's with the cost of the replacement module from Horizon/evolution 229.99?

Be sure to get the right plug boot fitted.
M10x1 plug, M14 tapered seat or M14 flat seat plug should be stated when ordering. Be prepared to read the instructions that come with it.
as for your secons question, why not ask Horizon? I can't speak for them.
If you ask me about added value:
The ignitions have some extra options like battery test and automatic shutdown that provides a lot of extra safety. Be it when standing still, or preparing for your next flight. They will not bite you either if you flip the prop in a lazy manner because they have full retard. The ignition stops the engine if it runs backwards. The ignition is potted and robust with rugged grommet mounts. The unit is LiPo ready without voltage regulator. The S-and P-types are programmable for a different advance curve to suit reso tubes. AND last but not least, MVVS has now an extended a three year warranty or 1000 starts, whichever is first.
