Been running mine with a Bambula 24X10@6400rpm for several years now, also replaced
carb with walbro SDC80, engine runs great, airplane is a AW 31% edge(92"w/s) at 20lbs,
plane is very fast with great vertical, but was considering a Vess prop for better pull for
hovering, etc., have very little ground clearance for larger 26 in. props, so was considering
their 25B prop, any opinions??.
Tks, Allen

Have you experimented with other 24x10 props? I never had good luck with Bambula or MSC, the load appeared to outweigh the performance in my opinion. I had better luck with NX or Xoar Laminated. You can make more thrust with more load at a lower RPM and slower spool up, or more thrust with less load at a higher RPM and snappy spool up. I reach the goal happily with different methods depending on the model. Some simply perform better with higher loading props, and others the opposite. Mejzlik carbon props pull pretty damn hard for a relatively light loading prop and spools up nice. I'm starting to play with the th (thin) blade series props in 24, 26 and 27 inch sizes, and so far I am happy with their pull, while lessening the load on the engines. I like the quicker spool up and the engines are running cooler.
If you could make the ground clearance work....I'd think about a 26x10th
I'm surprised you are not turning that bambula a bit faster, to be honest.

I've run a TBM 26x8 at 6300 rpm, my friend has a 3W 26x8 that turns 6500 rpm. The odd thing is the planes and engines are the same only the props are different and mine is faster in the air. I now have a 22x10 3 bladed Biela CF flies about the same as the 26x8 prop except the down lines the prop slows the plane much more, but if I tached it I don't remember the rpms.

This is an older engine 2000 model, I went with the walbro because I never could get the
oem carb to run right, it has a very restrictive johnson pitts muffler wich is aprox 100rpm
less than the supersonic pitts I had before, but more quiet, I have sent it to Aircraft Int'l
for a full check up, everything good, the engine starts/runs perfectly.
I understand that the Bambula is a heavier load prop and not a performance one by any
means, the airplane just feels too fast even at 1/3 power settings and landing speed is
a little fast, I'm using a throttle mix on a switch for landing to drop idle rpm's from 1800
to 1500, otherwise plane wants to keep flying.
I'm looking for a prop with less speed, more low end pull and more braking for landings.

....lower your pitch. If you don't have room to swing a 26x8 (full blade not thin or narrow), try a 23-24x8 three blade. I thought you were looking for more performance all around, not to slow it down per se. So disregard my last suggestion
