I have a converted Poulan 42 with CH ignition. I don't have a big starter so I flip it by hand to start. The walbro carb has the choke and it takes approx 40 flips at full open throttle to get it to pop. Open the choke and it starts about two flips. The engine runs strong and idles/transitions well. The choke plate has a small hole in it. If I plug the hole with JB weld, do you think it will make it choke easier? I put a carb kit in it and no change. The carb is horizontal as the engine is inverted. All my other gas engines pop after about 6-8 flips choked. Suggest any other methods besides a starter? Also what is the difference between the RCJ6 and the RCJ7 spark plug and which is best for this engine? Thanks, Paul

I made & installed primer tube for 2.7cu Husky Challenger gas engine in my Aerotech P-51D Blondie for the same reason. I use a small eye dropper to deliver fuel thru the primer tube to the carburetor inlet. There are pictures of this set-up on my website, scroll down to 2.7 gas engine to see the primer tube, etc.. Here's a direct link to the fuselage section: http://waltsrchanger.com/html/fuselage1.html
Hope this will help you solve your problem.

Look like a good idea but the fuel and prime tube inlet are on the bottom of the carb. I think I pinched and sealed the prime tube anyway. Let me see if I can turn the carb and carb block around! Thanks, Paul
